ENEL GREEN POWER recently send a main shaft assembly of an ACCIONA AW82 wind turbine, for repair in our facilities.
The rear bearing steady and its cover were found severely damaged due to lack of lubrication, causing further damages on the shaft journals.
The shaft journals were restored to original dimensions by Laser Cladding, the rear bearing steady was repaired by inserting and new machined section and the bearing cover was also repaired by Laser Cladding. New spacing sleeves were fabricated and fitted. Last, new bearings and seals were installed.
